Aims of the Programme
The aims of the programme are as follows:
1) Enabling students to become future innovators and entrepreneurs with original, creative and critical thinking to develop effective business plans and corporate strategies.
2) Preparing students for a variety of careers in business and start-up projects.
3) Enhancing students’ understanding of the role of the entrepreneur.
4) Providing students with an advanced knowledge of the theories and practices of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in order to be able to responsibly apply them in real world ventures.
5) Encouraging students to evaluate local and global market opportunities in accordance to ethics and in order to become innovative yet responsible entrepreneurial leaders.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, the student will be expected to:
a) Develop or launch their own businesses or projects.
b) Design and plan business models and implement innovative theories for achieving progress and provide solutions.
c) Assess and evaluate an organisation’s position and apply innovative strategy for further enhancement.
d) Explain how to manage a business and provide innovative opportunities.
e) Apply skills acquired through the programme that meet the social, ethical and financial constraints.
f) Adapt to market shifts and changes that compel them to foster ongoing innovation practices.
g) Apply the necessary skills to launch a new project from ideation to customer activation.
h) Identify the market’s gaps and needs in order to make an effective business proposal that can stand within the competitive entrepreneurial landscape.
i) Apply their subject-specific knowledge and skills to real-world challenges and key issues, such as health, education and the environment.
j) Identify new opportunities, evaluate them in close dialogue with the environment, market, and customers, and suggest new adjustments that will elevate the competitive advantage.
k) Identify and handle uncertainty and risks involved in entrepreneurship.
Admission Requirements
The general admission requirements for entry to Unicaf University in Zambia Master degree programmes are as outlined below. Students are advised to contact the Office of Admissions to find out more about the range of equivalent international academic qualifications accepted.
- Admission to a Master’s degree programme requires an accredited Bachelor degree or international equivalent. Related professional qualifications at the appropriate level will also be considered for entry.
- Students with an accredited Master’s degree will also be considered for entry.
- Recognised proof of English proficiency if the Bachelor degree was not taught in the English language
- Copy of valid passport or national ID
In addition to a strong academic record, extra-curricular activities, leadership skills and other relevant background information are taken into account.
