Rationale


Strategic planning is essential for organisational leaders navigating turbulent environments. This course enables students to grasp various concepts, tools, and practices in strategic planning, empowering them to effectively address challenges in organisational operations and adapt to dynamic landscapes.
The course aims to cultivate students' abilities to analyse complex environments, develop long-term organisational visions, and formulate effective strategies to achieve objectives.


Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:

(i)    Analyse the internal and external environment of an organisation with which they are familiar and generate a strategic plan.
(ii)   Outline tools and strategies for making strategic planning more effective. 
(iii)  Plan for evaluation and review processes that need to be conducted in effective strategic planning processes.
(iv)  Identify the implications and the importance of the SWOT analysis for strategic planning.
(v)   Construct an argument that clearly identifies the dimensions of the internal coherence (robustness) within a Strategic Plan.
