Rationale
In today's digital era, having a strong online presence is paramount for businesses and organisations. Social media platforms and search engines are primary channels through which users discover and engage with content. Through this course students will learn how to use social media tools and platforms effectively in order to make websites that are easily accessible to users and discoverable via popular search engines such as Google or Bing.
This course aims to introduce students to the concepts of social media management, content strategy and online promotion and marketing with a focus on search engine optimisation (SEO) and its use in social media. The goal is to demonstrate how these concepts can be applied to design rich, authoritative, attractive, easily accessible and audience-appropriate content.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i) Apply Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) strategies to enhance the visibility and ranking of web content across different digital platforms, including websites, videos, and mobile apps.
(ii) Execute effective social media campaigns using current trends and analytics.
(iii) Use server logs, third-party analytics tools and demographic data to inform content creation, campaign strategies and the integration of SEO for optimised digital communication and marketing.
