Rationale


This course is an integral part of the programme as it provides students with a fundamental understanding of how the web works and how to create platforms for compelling, user-centred, high standard web content that drives engagement, enhances user experience, and achieves the desired objectives amidst today's digital landscape.
This course aims to familiarise students with both the technical and aesthetic aspects of designing web content equally.


Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:

(i)    Employ web standards and accessibility principles to design and develop websites that are inclusive, focusing on structure, presentation and behaviour separation to enhance user experience.
(ii)   Appy principles of colour theory, typography, imagery and layout to create visually appealing and accessible web content.
(iii)  Construct responsive websites that adapt to various devices and screen sizes, applying user-centred design principles to ensure websites meet the needs of diverse audiences.
