Rationale


User experience is paramount for the students’ future career in the field of web design and development as it emphasises the importance of creating websites and applications that align with user’s needs. Through comprehensive coverage of UX design concepts, this course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop websites that are rich, authoritative, attractive, accessible, and visually appealing to their target audience.

This course aims to introduce students to the important role that User Experience (UX) design plays in web design and development.


Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:

(i)    Design digital content and interfaces that prioritise user needs and employ a user-centred approach that enhances usability and satisfaction across devices and platforms.
(ii)   Develop User Experience (UX) strategies that effectively balance business goals with user goals. 
(iii)  Utilise analytics and demographic data to inform design decisions and content development for targeted audiences.
(iv)  Build websites that offer an exceptional user experience, incorporating principles of interaction design, information architecture and visual design.
