Aims of the Programme

The programme is targeted at educational professionals with the aim of bridging theory, research, policy, increase the range of teaching, learning and practice to ensure high deliverables in contemporary educational institutions. The programme will empower students with the ability to develop implementable academic vision, provide an enabling learning climate, and more importantly focus on management which will improve the general learning environment.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the programme, the student will be expected to:

a) Analyse educational theory, policy, processes and practices which are sufficient in terms of breadth, depths and content.

b) Analyse current issues and trends in the practices of classroom instruction and curriculum development and apply that knowledge appropriately in the development of curricula and instructional strategies.

c) Explore appropriate and effective curricula and instructional strategies that are informed by current theories of learning and pedagogy, including meeting the needs of diverse learners.

d) Establish effective professional relationships with a wide range of individuals in the workplace and/or associated with work.   

Entry Requirements

Admission Requirements

The general admission requirements for entry to Unicaf University in Zambia Master degree programmes are as outlined below.  Students are advised to contact the Office of Admissions to find out more about the range of equivalent international academic qualifications accepted.

  • Admission to a Master’s degree programme requires an accredited Bachelor degree with Credit and above or equivalent qualification.  Students with lower results will need to enter the University’s Pre-Masters programme. Related professional qualifications at the appropriate level will also be considered for entry. 
  • Students with an accredited Master’s degree will also be considered for entry.
  • Recognized proof of English proficiency demonstrated by approved English language tests, if the Bachelor degree was not taught in the English language
  • Copy of valid passport or national ID

In addition to a strong academic record, extra-curricular activities, leadership skills and other relevant background information are taken into account.
