Aims of the Programme
The aim of the MBA Health Management programme is to develop skilled executives equipped with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in administration, health economics, and strategic management within the healthcare sector. By providing a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, the programme aims to address the critical human resource needs of the healthcare industry by preparing graduates to effectively navigate the complexities of healthcare administration and finance. Through a focus on practical skills development and strategic thinking, the programme seeks to empower students to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall delivery of healthcare services in the 21st century.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, the student will be expected to:
a) Apply principles and theories of healthcare management to analyse and enhance organisational effectiveness.
b) Demonstrate proficiency as equipped healthcare professionals by synthesising relevant scientific literature and ethical considerations in decision-making processes.
c) Design effective business environments and healthcare organisations, integrating modern management tools and innovative strategies.
d) Evaluate the strategic operations of healthcare organisations within modern business environments, considering legal and regulatory frameworks.
e) Utilise advanced analytical and research skills to critically examine and address complex issues in healthcare administration, fostering continuous improvement and adaptation to changing dynamics.
Admission Requirements
The general admission requirements for entry to Unicaf University in Zambia Master degree programmes are as outlined below. Students are advised to contact the Office of Admissions to find out more about the range of equivalent international academic qualifications accepted.
- Admission to a Master’s degree programme requires an accredited Bachelor degree with Credit and above or equivalent qualification. Students with lower results will need to enter the University’s Pre-Masters programme. Related professional qualifications at the appropriate level will also be considered for entry.
- Students with an accredited Master’s degree will also be considered for entry.
- Recognized proof of English proficiency demonstrated by approved English language tests, if the Bachelor degree was not taught in the English language
- Copy of valid passport or national ID
In addition to a strong academic record, extra-curricular activities, leadership skills and other relevant background information are taken into account.
