Human Physiology Module Details
Module/Course Description
Course Title: Human Physiology
Course Code: UU-HPH-2320-ZM
Programme: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing
Credits: 20.00
Course Description:
Rationale
This course is an integral part for this programme, as it introduces the functions and regulation of major human body systems, providing nursing students with a fundamental understanding of physiological processes essential for delivering safe patient care. Students will explore how different parts within a body system work together to seamlessly accomplish tasks, supporting their ability to recognise and interpret normal and abnormal bodily functions in clinical settings. The course also covers the regulation of organ function, a critical component of physiology which will enable students understand the normal functioning of all the body systems.
The aim of this course is to provide nursing students with a comprehensive understanding of the normal physiological functions and regulatory mechanisms of the human body, enabling them to apply this knowledge to assess, monitor, and support patients’ health across a variety of clinical contexts.
