Course Description:

Rationale
This course covers the technical development of software and project management. The topics covered include; component design, component procurement, component testing, component reverse engineering, software design, implementation, analysis and testing, deployment and maintenance, documentation and ethical considerations. The main objective of this course is to prepare students for undertaking large software projects. It introduces the students to the high-level strategies required for managing projects from their genesis to completion.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course students will be expected to:

(i) Execute formal management for software projects
(ii) Provide quality assurance practices for software projects
(iii) Describe a number of modern software development methods
(iv) Select appropriate modern software development methods for a variety of software projects
