Course Description:

This module aims to provide an understanding of the issues and techniques of Health Information Systems, a discipline that deals with the collection, storage, retrieval communication and use of health related data, information and knowledge. The students will explore a number of topics related to understanding of this sector of health care, including but not limited to the history of HIS, information and knowledge, information systems design for the health care industry, and organizational and societal issues.

To enable students to address comprehensively the problem of implementation of information technology in activities directly related to the generation and exploitation of knowledge in complex multi-parameter organizational groups (hospitals, health systems).

Specialization in the design and development of complex systems and decisions of support health systems.
