Rationale


This course is essential to the programme as it highlights the complexity and variation of concepts involved in managing corporate change within the current global yet unstable environment.  Students will develop the skills to understand the pivotal role of leadership, culture and organisational learning in the metamorphosis of organisations. The course will also enable students to interpret the implementation strategies into operational initiatives and development plans to align with the organisation and achieve successful implementation. 

The course aims to equip students with the concepts, tools, and techniques necessary for the design and management of change processes, enabling them to develop comprehensive transformational strategies based on principles of strategic management.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course, students will be expected to:
(i)    Explain how strategic change management theory may be put into practice.
(ii)   Describe the nature of innovation and change in organisations.
(iii)  Describe the key processes and components in managing change in an organisational context.
(iv)  Apply the concepts, tools and techniques for the design and management of the change process.
(v)   Convert implementation strategies to operational initiatives and development plans in order to achieve successful implementation.
