Aims of the Programme
The aim of the programme is to develop highly skilled healthcare management professionals equipped to address critical challenges in the local and international health sector through a comprehensive curriculum in administration, health economics, research methods, and relevant public health disciplines.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, the student will be expected to:
a) Apply relevant principles and theories of business management, health economics, and financial management to analyse, evaluate, and optimise healthcare operations.
b) Demonstrate the ability to manage healthcare organisations effectively, ensuring efficient resource allocation and strategic decision-making.
c) Conduct independent research in healthcare management, utilising appropriate methodologies for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
d) Evaluate health systems and complex public health challenges, proposing solutions within resource constraints.
e) Exhibit strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, applying research findings to inform ethical decision-making in the healthcare sector.
f) Communicate healthcare information and strategies to both professional and non-professional audiences.
Admission Requirements
The general admission requirements for entry to Unicaf University in Zambia Master degree programmes are as outlined below. Students are advised to contact the Office of Admissions to find out more about the range of equivalent international academic qualifications accepted.
- Admission to a Master’s degree programme requires an accredited Bachelor degree with Credit and above or equivalent qualification. Students with lower results will need to enter the University’s Pre-Masters programme. Related professional qualifications at the appropriate level will also be considered for entry.
- Students with an accredited Master’s degree will also be considered for entry.
- Recognized proof of English proficiency demonstrated by approved English language tests, if the Bachelor degree was not taught in the English language
- Copy of valid passport or national ID
In addition to a strong academic record, extra-curricular activities, leadership skills and other relevant background information are taken into account.
