Background and Rationale

This course aims to provide an understanding of the nature, sources, and structure of modern International and European Law as well as its fundamental concepts and their implications in the substantive exposition of various issues of the contemporary International and European system. It will also explore the various International and European instruments and the interface between different aspects of the contemporary International and European legal order. 

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students will be expected to:

1)    Analyse the role and importance if International and European law.
2)    Interpret International and European law.
3)    Apply International and European law.
4)    Produce academic writing to a high standard of scholarship, including writing effectively in the English language and presenting information and ideas in a manner that meets relevant academic conventions.
