Rationale 


Medical and surgical procedures have legal implications especially when things go wrong. The understanding of how to address such issues is covered in this course on Forensic Pathology and Medical Jurisprudence.

To equip the student with skills to manage medical legal issues, to plan, implement and evaluate medical jurisprudence issues.

 

Learning Outcomes 


At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)    Explain medical legal issues and their implications.
(ii)   Perform post-mortem examinations and prepare comprehensive reports.
(iii)  Present expert medical evidence in courts of law in a clear and professional manner.
(iv)  Apply the medical ethics and legal obligations prescribed by the Zambian Medical Council in their practice.
