Course Description:

Rationale 


Epidemiology and public health will develop students’ knowledge and skills in preventing disease and promoting good health, using the knowledge of the spread determinants and distribution of diseases within the population.

This aims to provide students with a deep understanding of public health as the prevention of disease and promotion of good health in an organised fashion in communities. 

 

Learning Outcomes 


At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)    Describe key features and applications of descriptive and analytic epidemiology.
(ii)   Apply epidemiological methods to perform community diagnoses, identify health needs, and ensure the welfare of the population.
