Course Description:
Rationale
Integrated clinical practice is the process of ensuring a smooth coordination of patient care across various disease conditions, health care providers, formal health services and community settings, over periods of time.
This course aims to provide the student with a thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles and practices of Clinical Sciences. In addition, it seeks to illustrate the significance of the use of Clinical Sciences in the diagnosis, investigation and management of disease in the Hospital setting.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i) Demonstrate core clinical assessment, diagnostic, and professional skills required of a doctor.
(ii) Participate in patient care across a variety of clinical settings, including primary care, secondary care, emergency departments, ward care, elective/day case units, and ambulatory/outpatient care.
(iii) Explain the benefits of combining expertise from various care clinicians for patients and providers.
(iv) Evaluate feedback received from both patients and caregivers regarding the care provided.
