Course Description:

Rationale


This course will provide students with an overview of the quality management system ISO 45001:2018 and they will acquire an understanding of the system’s objectives and of the skills they need to develop in order to implement an OHS management system. Students will be familiar with the historical development of the quality management system as well as the steps towards implementation. They will also understand how organisations have benefited from a structured quality system of operation that ensures safety and health in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:    
(i)    Explain the transition for one system, OHSAS 18001 to the latest version ISO45001:2018.
(ii)   Coordinate successfully the implementation of ISO 45001:2018 in the organisation.
(iii)  Perform audits according to the requirements in ISO 45001:2018 while ensuring that all audit evidence obtained.
(iv)  Ensure that the health and safety system objective are aligned with the business objectives of the organisation.
(v)   Document all the information needed for the audit process to achieve maximum effectiveness of the quality system for the organisation.
