Rationale


This course provides students the opportunity to assess and evaluate their personal communication skills and apply new techniques for improvement. They will explore different types of verbal and non-verbal communication processes in order to strengthen their relationships and interactions, at home and work, regardless of the industry. 

Learning outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)    Discuss the key principles of effective communication, as well as the barriers in achieving it. 
(ii)   Reflect on their natural listening style and apply techniques of active listening in order to improve. 
(iii)  Apply the basic pillars of ethical communication.
(iv)  Demonstrate effective reading and writing skills. 
(v)   Describe how important intercultural awareness is for developing good intercultural communication.
