Course Description:
Rationale
Organisational Behaviour will familiarise students with appropriate planning, methodological, evaluative and presentational techniques, while enabling them to develop intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, such as the nature and effects of preconceptions and interaction with others in organisational settings.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i) Discuss individual behaviour, values and personality.
(ii) Summarise the perceptions, learning, emotions, attitudes, and motivation in organisations.
(iii) Discuss high performance team development and explore the foundations of team dynamics.
(iv) Discuss high performance team development which is based on the broad understanding of the way teams contribute to the organisation, the methods for team formation, the stages of team development, as well as the factors affecting the selection of team members.
(v) Communicate in teams and organisations.
(vi) Analyse how the use of power affects organisations.
(vii) Explain the difference between equity and equality from a coalition formation perspective.
(viii) Critically explain leadership in organisational settings.
(ix) Analyse organisational structure and design.
(x) Describe applied performance practices and stress management.
(xi) Explain the dynamics of organisational change.
(xii) Identify major issues in organisational change.
