Course Description:

Rationale
Creativity in art and design, calls for originality as well as imaginative, inventive and inspired creations.  Such creative art and designs should impact on the viewership generating feelings of fulfilment and satisfaction. That is the kind of art and design that should be fostered by this course so that the young students acquire such creative skills and abilities at an early age.  They are practical and creative subjects that should be fostered in young children to instil love for the subject. It is a deliberate attempt to get students to be imaginative and develop abilities to explore and develop their own ideas; “To Be Masters of The Moment”.  The Pre-primary age group is one that is interactive with nature and enjoys working with their hands. This course aims to capture this passion and guide the students into acquiring relevant capabilities. Art is a combination of Art and Design, Music, Dance, Physical Education and Performing Drama. However, Art and Design, are the focus of this course, the result of which will be critical thinking minds that will take designing and artistic work seriously. A serious consideration that has been noted in the creation of this course is to develop critical thinking and innovative skills, creativity, imagination as well as aesthetic sensitivity and values in the potential teachers in order for them to nurture these abilities in their own students through their teaching.
