Background and Rationale


The objective of the module is to equip students with a detailed knowledge of the law pertaining to private and public trusts, their creation, administration and termination. Implied and constructive trusts will also be dealt with.

Learning Outcomes


After completion of the module students are expected to be able to:
1. Analyze trust notions.
2. Critically analyze types of trust.
3. Isolate trustees’ obligations.
4. Describe fiduciary duties of trustee.
5. State remedies of beneficiaries for trustee’s breach of duties.
