Rationale


Quantitative Methods is an essential course in the programme as it develops students’ critical analysis skills by investigating methods such as mathematical modelling and statistical analysis. Students gain proficiency in quantitative methodologies through practical exercises, which equips them to solve problems and make decisions effectively. Finally, the course helps students develop a quantitative mindset, enabling them to make decisions based on data in practical situations.

The aim of this course is to equip students with essential analytical tools, fostering proficiency in quantitative methodologies for effective decision-making across domains.

At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)     Evaluate the significance of quantitative methods in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
(ii)    Resolve business problems through quantitative approaches.
(iii)   Apply suitable quantitative methods in addressing diverse business challenges effectively.
(iv)  Develop quantitative models for proposing and evaluating policy alternatives.
(v)   Enhance skills in analytical decision-making and professional data presentation, facilitating effective communication with non-technical stakeholders.
