Course Description:

Rationale


This course aims to provide students with deep knowledge of the theory of hypothesis testing about population means and proportions. Topics covered include all aspects of Analysis of Variance, of the Chi Square Test and the Correlation, Regression and Time Series Analysis. Through this course students will gain awareness for the basic Non parametric Tests.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)    Execute hypothesis testing for the Population Mean “µ” and the Proportion “p”.
(ii)   Execute hypothesis testing for the difference between two Population Means (independent samples).
(iii)  Define Linear Correlation and perform Multiple Regression.
(iv)  Execute Tests of Independence and Homogeneity.
(v)   Execute One-Way ANOVA tests.
(vi)  Explain the basic Non-Parametric tests.
(vii) Demonstrate the ability to cover in detail all aspects of Time Series Analysis.
(viii) Use the SPSS package efficiently.
