Course Description:

The rationale behind every module is to offer the student all possible knowledge in each module of the course, in order to be able to deepen their understanding and render them capable of practically applying it. Managerial Finance provides an overview of the key finance principles and an understanding of how financial markets operate, security prices are determined and how managerial finance affects the value of firms. Moreover, the module demonstrates the importance and role of finance in valuation techniques and risk analysis and teaches students how financial theory can be used to address practical problems.

After completion of the course students are expected to be able to:
1. Define the importance and role of finance in the organization
2. Explain the analysis of financial statements
3. Calculate and apply time value of money concepts
4. Measure risk and rates of return
5. Assess the valuation of Bonds and Stocks
6. Illustrate cash flow estimation for expansion projects and replacement projects
7. Explain the cost of capital
8. Estimate the firm’s optimal capital structure
