Rationale
The Business Ethics course provides students with fundamental knowledge and understanding of business ethics and its significance to stakeholders. Students learn to differentiate between laws, ethics, and morality, while examining various ethical theories. Through analysis of ethical issues from managerial, individual, and societal perspectives, students develop skills in ethical decision-making.
The aim of this course is to equip students with a thorough understanding of ethical principles and theories in business and their importance to stakeholders.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i) Apply different ethical perspectives in workplace relationships for the resolution of workplace ethical dilemmas.
(ii) Explain the components of Corporate Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance.
(iii) Identify the ethical ramifications of technology in organisations.
(iv) Assess current ethical issues from a managerial, individual, and societal perspective.
(v) Identify ways of coping with ethical challenges in a global environment.
(vi) Identify the implications of differences in business ethics worldwide.
(vii) Analyse business objectives from an ethical perspective for the development, implementation, and evaluation of an ethics programme.
