Course Description:

Rationale


Students will become competent in the application of commercial and consumer law to complex legal problems and achieve a critical ability in analysis, evaluation and synthesis of commercial and consumer law. The course exposes students to current problems and dilemmas in commercial and consumer cases. 
This course aims to introduce knowledge and understanding of the law relating to the formation, regulation and discharge of commercial contracts and the legal protection afforded to consumers.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:

(i)    Analyse the commercial and consumer law.
(ii)   Apply laws relating to commercial and consumer law contracts.
(iii)  Explain the role and obligations of different governmental and non-governmental agencies in terms of commercial practice, trading standard and consumer protection.
