Rationale


Epidemiology is the cornerstone of public health practice. It equips professionals with the tools to investigate disease outbreaks, identify risk factors, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Understanding these principles is crucial for informing public health policy and promoting population health.

This course aims to equip students with a solid foundation in epidemiology. By exploring core concepts, study designs, and data analysis methods, students will gain the skills to critically evaluate epidemiological research and apply findings to real-world public health scenarios.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)    Apply the fundamental principles of research methodology. 
(ii)   Develop a postgraduate research proposal.
(iii)  Evaluate the various research procedures.
(iv)  Interpret data from existing research studies.
