Course Description:

Rationale
Teaching is an obligatory exercise for every student undertaking a teaching degree. It is primarily a practical course whose aim is to provide potential teachers with the opportunity to showcase their skills, abilities and expertise attained during the learning process. Hence, a basic pursuit of School Experience is the gradual development of professional students, with a focus on their readiness to take up autonomously pedagogical / didactic work. Teaching is about connecting with the students. Emphasis will be placed on the demonstration of the methodologies that include skill in administering the different pedagogies in a well-managed classroom environment to encourage learning; Notice, nudge and narrate (the three N’s). The aim is for students to be at the center of the learning process thus, their teacher is expected to be versatile, innovative, creative and productive in order to bring out the best out of them.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course students will be expected to:

i.    Explain and execute various pedagogies.
ii.   Choose and implement the most suitable teaching methods and strategies based on the topic being studied, and the level of expertise of the learner. 
iii.  Manage the classroom environment efficiently and effectively ensuring that students are engaged using the three N’s.
iv.  Foster positive-child relationships for learning.
v.   Demonstrate versatility, innovation, creativity and knowledge of the content.
vi.  Develop SMART objectives.
vii. Plan weekly teaching sessions which correspond to various subjects of the analytical.
viii.Prepare quality and effective lesson plans and use the various documentation required in the teaching.
ix.  Manage students responsibly and flexibly outside the classroom (e.g. pedagogy, educational visit-excursion, school events), exploiting appropriate pedagogical approaches.
x.   Exercise the virtues of respect and cooperation within the school community (teachers, manager, auxiliary staff, parents, etc.).
xi.  Conduct self-assessment and reflect of their practice on multiple levels. (Didactic, communicative, social, moral).
